MULTAN, Jan 16: The Anti-Corruption establishment on Wednesday registered corruption cases against two irrigation department XENs and an SDO for allegedly embezzling Rs40 million.

XENs Inaitullah, Ahmad Gil and SDO Tariq Aziz had misappropriated funds allotted to the construction of Faqeerwali embankment, Madni marginal embankment, Muzzafargarh Defence embankment and the restoration of T-heads. The ACE conducted an inquiry which found them guilty of charges.

A corruption case was also registered against Javed Gul and Raheem Buksh, the two former assistant commissioners of Kot Adu.

The inquiry against them gave out they had the government land of 5,520 kanals allotted.

Similarly, a corruption case was also registered against two Highway department’s SDOs, Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Rizwan and a sub-engineer, Ghulam Mustafa. They allegedly embezzled Rs12.4 million

funds earmarked for the construction of Nishtar Ghat Road, Rajanpur.

SHOT DEAD: Unidentified robbers looted a rickshaw driver and shot him dead on resistance here on Tuesday night.

Muhammad Javed, 27, was on his way home by rickshaw when robbers intercepted him near Chowk Shehbaz on Aljeelan Road.
