RAWALPINDI: Two women were deprived of cash and one of them raped after being abducted in Rawat area, police said on Monday.

The rape victim had left her house with her friend to attend a wedding in Chak Beli Khan, the FIR stated.

The victim had also taken a servant along in a taxi and proceeded to the wedding at night.She said as they were on their way to Chak Beli Khan, a car with three occupants blocked their way and forced the driver to stop.

She stated that two persons travelling in the other vehicle forcibly boarded their vehicle and asked the driver to take the taxi to a deserted place where they snatched Rs80,000 from her and Rs5,000 from the driver.

She claimed that she was held at gunpoint by one of the kidnappers who then raped her while his accomplice guarded her friend and driver.

The victim said the suspects fired gunshots in the air to threaten her and later escaped.

Police said the FIR was registered against the suspects after the victim’s medical examination was conducted. However, none of the suspects has been arrested.
