LAHORE, Aug 22: Former Kamoki Tehsil Nazim Zakaullah Baryar and PPP president Bashir Bhopal on Monday announced joining the PML and expressed their confidence in the leadership of PML chief Shujaat Husain and Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.

Both Mr Baryar and Mr Bhopal made the announcement at a meeting with Pervaiz Elahi at the Chief Minister’s House in the presence of Punjab Transport Minister Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan.

On the occasion, Mr Elahi said it was a good omen that people having a vision to serve the masses were joining the PML, and added that would help strengthen political system in the country.

He said the PML-supported candidates’ victory in the first phase of elections showed that the people wanted continuity of the present government’s reform agenda and uplift projects.

He said the local bodies system had served as an effective tool to solve masses’ problems at the grassroots level. — Staff Reporter
