'Pakistanis are you ready?': Foreign Peshawar Zalmi players tweet in Urdu ahead of PSL 5

With just days to go before the fifth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) kicks off, foreign players in the Peshawar Zalmi team tweeted in Urdu to express their excitement and eagerness to come to play in the country.
"Pakistanis, how are you?" asked England's Tom Banton in Urdu on Twitter, as he informed fans that he was preparing for his tour of Pakistan.
“I am packing my bags. Are you ready for Pakistan Super League season five and for Peshawar Zalmi’s fours and sixes?”
"I am packing my luggage and am ready to come to Pakistan. All of you should get ready to come to the stadium as well," he wrote.
He is not the only one to tease his arrival. On Monday, Banton's compatriot Liam Dawson had tweeted “Asalam-o-Alaikum Pakistan”, and said that he was preparing to visit the country.
"Is Pakistan ready for PSL five? Now that the entire PSL is being held in Pakistan, are you ready to fill the stadiums?"
Dawson went on to express his love for local cuisine, saying "my mouth is already watering thinking about chapli kabab and dam pukht".
The much loved Peshawar Zalmi captain, Daren Sammy, also took to Twitter acknowledging Pakistanis' love for cricket and saying that he can’t wait to be a part of the Zalmi squad again.
"PSL 5 would mean a lot for the Pakistani people and I can't wait to join my Peshawar Zalmi family," he said.
In another tweet early Tuesday, he said: "Pakistan I am on my way. This journey is more than just cricket," he tweeted.
Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, replied by welcoming the player.
The Pakistan Super League 2020 is set to begin from February 20.

Be assured of our hospitality. I am in UK but would be travelling to see few games in Lahore. There is definitely need for improvement in infrastructure. Especially Pindi and Multan stadiums. Surroundings need uplifting as well..

@M. Emad, A very unprofessional comment IPL is an old event and established in 2008 where PSL is just now heading its 5th additions things takes time to get popular it's required marketing, advertisement, etc and all these things are in the process.

We all should be happy that PSL is getting the country excited. This is positive. IPL and PSL cannot be compared from a financial perspective, let's not do that. We have so many negatives in this world, these initiatives at least show the positive side of human nature.

What is surprising is that most of the players playing are not a part of the playing XI and have either retired or nor considered or too young and inexperienced. It is somewhat similar to ISL in India where the international players are mostly division 2 or retired players. Still that has helped the Indian football grow with the expertise they bring. Its a separate thing that India is ranked in early 100s in football and Pakistan is in top 10 in cricket

There is not at all comparison between IPL and PSL. IPL has all star and current cricketers while PSL has all retired or not in their current team. Moneywise, viewership wise, competitiveness wise no match between.

Thank you Imran Khan and PCB for bringing back cricket to Pakistan. Pakistani's whether they live in Pakistan or abroad are very happy and look forward to the PSL. Pakistan retired players please participate in bringing cricket back to Pakistan and please be positive about cricket in Pakistan in your Youtube channels. Former cricketers, such as Sohaib Akthur should contribute\give back instead of criticizing Pakistan cricket. While I agree PCB has to overcome many challenges they are slowly but surely overcoming the hurdles.
