SUKKUR, Aug 21: A Khanewal-bound goods train narrowly escaped a disaster when its driver found that brakes and vacuum were missing from some bogies of the train.

According to railway officials, the goods train was derailed at the Gadani railway crossing, Sukkur, when the driver complained that the train was not moving as there was some trouble in the bogies.

A technical team reached the place and found that the vacuum and brakes of some bogies were missing. The train was later brought back to Sukkur railway station.

The railways divisional superintendent Sukkur has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
