KARACHI, Aug 21: Jockeys M. Nasir and Mumtaz Ali shared the day’s honour by performing a splendid double apiece in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

After piloting home three-year old colt Secret Conquest in the third race of afternoon, Nasir rode home bay colt Blue Breeze in the eighth to complete his double.

This was Secret Conquest’s second successive win as he had triumphed on the Independence Day also.

Three-year old filly, Butter Fly beaten to second place in the six furlongs KRC Cup last week, again secured the same spot while Arabian Queen finished third.

Ehtisham Rizvi’s Blue Breeze surprised the pundits by attaining top slot in the pack of twelve runners. He won by 7 ½ length. Half-bred Order Of The Day and bay horse Issey Miyke had to be content with second and third positions respectively.

Jockey Mumtaz’s success came in the sixth and seventh races through four-year old colt Run and Pray and half-bred Sher Garh.

Earlier, change of rider bore fruitful results for chestnut Prosmatic who won the days opening race.
