KARACHI: After the implementation of the revamped domestic structure, the coaches of six regional teams have a dual responsibility of acting as national team selector too under their chief, Misbah-ul-Haq.

In a bid to streamline coordination between regional coaches and relevant officials in the PCB hierarchy, the board has conveyed a guideline to regional coaches.

The letter, signed by the senior general manager, HR, addressed the head and assistant coaches in regions’ first XI, 2nd XI and U19 outfits.

“The cricket associations’ head coaches, who are also members of senior selection committee, will report to the chief selector through coordinator selection committee on selection matters”, the letter directed.

“On all coaching and administrative matters they will report to Director academies”, the letter said.

Former Test cricketer Nadeem Khan was earlier appointed as the coordinator selection committee to liaison between regional coaches/national selectors and Misbah, the chief selector.

The reporting channel has also been chalked out for coaching staff under regional head coaches.

“All other domestic coaches will report to director academies through their respective Cricket Associations Head coaches”, the letter concluded.
