House of mills’ director looted

SAHIWAL, Aug 21: Four masked bandits looted the house of a textile mills’ director and took away cash and valuables here on Sunday in old Civil Lines area. Reports said the dacoits entered the house of Sheikh Sarfraz Ahmed in old Civil Lines, a few 100 yards away from the Fateh Sher police station. They collected Rs25,000 from Sarfraz’s father Riaz Ahmed, Rs15,000 from his brothers, Salman and Shoaib, and took away a car and gold ornaments.

Fateh Sher police reportedly reached the spot after an hour. However, on receiving information, the Motorway police chased the dacoits and an encounter took place at Akhtarabad. The gangsters left the car and managed to escape along with the cash and valuables.

Fateh Sher police have registered a case under Section 395/394 of the PPC with no arrest.

Meanwhile, a dacoit took away a motorcycle and cash at the gate of a mosque in Gulistan Colony here on Saturday night.
