KARACHI, Aug 21: The Chief Secretary, Fazalur Rehman, has directed all concerned officials to prepare an effective strategy so that retired employees could get their pension on the very next day of their retirement.

In a statement issued on Sunday, he asked all provincial secretaries and other high officials to prepare a strategy that would help find a rapid solution of pending cases of pensions.

He said all concerned officials should coordinate with officials of the Sindh Accountant General’s office to initiate official procedure on pending pension cases at least six months before the time of retirement of employees.

The chief secretary said early initiatives by concern departments on pending cases would not only help them finalise the same in the shortest possible time but retired employees could get the pension and other benefits too without facing any problem.

He said work must be started on the matter in the light of the directives issued three months ago.
