Banned group’s activist held

GHALANI (Mohmand Agency), Aug 20: Security forces picked up a leader of the disbanded Tehreek Nifaz Shariat-i-Mohammadi (TNSM) in Loy Sam area of Bajaur Agency on Friday for having links with militants.

They said that army commandos and paramilitary carried out raid in Loy Sam area, about four kilometres south of Khar town and arrested Maulvi Inayetur Rehman from his house.

Sources said that Maulavi Rehman was running a training camp in the tribal area along the Afghan border. Soon after his arrest, he was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

The government has imposed a ban on TNSM and its chief Maulana Sufi Mohammad is in Dera Ismail Khan jail since October 2001.
