According to police sources, the US embassy vehicle broke a red light and drove into traffic. The driver has been arrested and an FIR registered with the Margalla police.

Investigating officer Asif Khan told Dawn that the initial report suggested that the cars collided head-on, killing a woman sitting in the other car and injuring five other people.

“The driver of the vehicle [that belongs to the US Embassy] told the police that the vehicle belonged to the US Embassy,” he said, adding: “We have detained the driver as a woman has died and five people are injured. We are investigating who is responsible for the accident.”
