MANSEHRA: Provincial senior naib emir of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Hidayatullah Shah has said his party will stage street protests across the province against the shortage of wheat flour and inflation tomorrow (Friday).

“We will take to the streets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including every district of Hazara division, on Friday against the shortage of wheat flour and escalating prices,” Mr Shah told a news conference here on Wednesday.

The JUI-F leader said the people struggled to buy food and other essential goods due to the high inflation.

He said the government had miserably failed to control inflation leaving the people with no option but to commit suicide.

Mr Shah said 20kg bag of wheat flour was sold for Rs600 during the last PML-N-led government but the price had surged to Rs1,300 to the misery of common man.

“This government mortgaged the country to the International Monetary Fund for loans and levied more and more taxes on businesses and thus causing high inflation,” he said.

The JUI-F leader complained about the shortage of sugar in parts of Hazara division despite surge in its price.

GAS PLANTS: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited will install air-mix gas plants in Kaghan valley and parts of Balakot tehsil to check large-scale deforestation.

“The air-mix gas plants successfully working in far-off parts of Balochistan will be installed in Kaghan valley, Ghanool, Mahandri and Balakot areas to supply liquefied petroleum gas to residents,” Senator retired General Salahuddin Tirmazi told reporters in Balakot area on Wednesday.

Mr Tirmazi, a member of the Senate standing committee on petroleum, said if rapid deforestation wasn’t controlled in Kaghan valley, environment would be polluted and natural beauty would be vanished.

STAFF SHORTAGE: The residents have complained about a shortage of staff at the Dalola basic health unit in Garhi Habibullah town.

Leading a group of people, Mohammad Javed told reporters that the BHU had sanctioned posts of a doctor, paramedics and a driver but they had long been lying vacant to the misery of the residents.

He said complaints were repeatedly lodged with the authorities on the problem, but to no avail.

The residents demanded the chief minister order the early filling of vacancies.
