Supporter of nazim-elect shot dead

GUJRANWALA, Aug 19: A supporter of a nazim-elect was killed while his son and four others injured when rivals opened fire on their victory procession on Friday. The fresh incident raises the death toll to 10 in election-related clashes in Gujranwala district.

Police said PPP leader Muhammad Bux’s supporters took out a procession in Dhulley which came under fire from supporters of Khalid of the PML.

The shooting left six injured. Ikram died while the condition of Saleem was stated to be serious.—Correspondent
