ISLAMABAD: The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (Peira) chairperson Ms Zia Batool on Tuesday said that private schools were playing a vital role in providing education to children and vowed to give all out support to strengthen and resolve their issues.

She was talking to Member National Assembly (MNA) from Islamabad and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan.

The MNA said public and private schools of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) would be made role model for other schools in the country with support from Peira and other departmentsconcerned.

Both also agreed to work on priority basis to bridge the gap between private sector schools and Peira.

Capacity building and regulation of private schools is the basic responsibility of Peira, she added.

Unfortunately, Peira has not been able to fulfil its responsibility so far,

Ms Batool lamented adding that education was the basic necessity and could not be ignored.

He assured to provide help in resolving the challenges being faced by Peira on priority basis.
