Ambassador of Nepal Sewa Lamsal opened her Visit Nepal 2020 campaign with an invitation for people to visit her country.

“More than1.5 million tourists visit Nepal. We want to attract 2m visitors this year,” Ambassador Lamsal said.

She welcomed guests saying that Nepal is a tourist-friendly country and an outstanding destination offering breathtaking beauty combined with diverse natural and cultural heritage, adventure sports and gorgeous rivers, lakes and scenic valleys,

“Nepal is known for adventure tourism and the world’s highest peak and amazing heritage. There is potential to collaborate in tourism of various kinds,” Ambassador Lamsal added.

The Visit 2020 campaign was officially launched in Nepal at the start of the year. After Islamabad, the embassy intends to take the event to other cities as well, to invite friends from Pakistan to visit Nepal and explore potential to develop tourism together.

The ambassador concluded by discussing the longstanding relationship Nepal has had with Pakistan in many thematic areas.

Heritage Division Secretary Nadeem Shafiq Malik emphasised developing direct air links with Nepal for Pakistanis who must visit the beautiful country.

The launch was followed by dinner, featuring traditional Nepalese delicacies and music as selected videos and images showcasing Nepal went on display in the background.
