JAFFNA, Aug 18: One police sergeant and a constable were shot at by the LTTE on Wednesday while they were engaged in a search operation in Jaffna. They were carrying out a search operation in connection with the murder of Jaffna superintendent of police, Charles Wijewardena, by suspected LTTE goons weeks ago. The LTTE suspects had fired from inside the house where the search was being carried out, military sources said.
