PESHAWAR, Aug 17: The world is changing fast in this era of globalisation and development interventions should be gender-sensitive to remove disparities in society, this was the crux of a two-day workshop here on Wednesday.
The IUCN-The World Conservation Union, Sarhad office, in collaboration with Abbottabad District Government arranged the training session on the “Gender Sensitisation” at a local hotel, says a press release issued here.
Speaking on the occasion, Abbottabad DCO Gul Rehman said there was a need to understand the importance of a gender-balanced approach in policy and planning at all levels.
This kind of workshops, he said, would help the district government implement its developmental plans, and stressed implementation of legislation regarding women rights.
