Hospitals on red alert

LAHORE, Aug 17: The health department has given a red alert to all teaching, district and tehsil headquarters hospitals to cater to any emergency during the local elections on Thursday and Aug 25.

The health department has issued telephonic instructions to medical superintendents that they should not allow leave to any senior doctor during the elections. They have also been asked to ensure the presence of all staff members of their respective hospitals to give emergency cover.

The MSs have also been asked to ensure the availability of ambulances in working condition.—Staff Reporter
