Maria, Ayesha victorious

LAHORE, Aug 16: Maria Nazir, Ayesha Amin, Muhammad Saleem, Riaz Dhool and Muhammad Shafiq won their respective events of the Pakistan Independence Day cycling championship held on Tuesday. Maria of Kinnaird School won 5Km schoolgirls road race.

Ayesha claimed first position in 10km women’s road race.

Saleem (Army) won 30km men road race (senior) while Riaz won 30km road race (juniors).

Shafiq won the 20km ordinary cycle road race.

Results:

5km school girls road race: Maria Nazir (Kinnaird) 10 points;Ayesha Babar (Daratul Milli) seven points; Rabit Usman (Kinnaird) five points.

10km women road race: Ayesha Amin (Wapda) 10 points; Ghazala Abbas (Wapda) seven points; Miss Madeeha Shahzad (SSGC) five points).

30km men road race (senior): Muhammad Saleem (Army) 10 points; Ghulam Abbas (Army) seven points; Shah Zaman (Army) five points.

30km road race (junior):Riaz Dhool (Punjab) 10 points; Muhammad Ijaz (Lahore) seven points; Muhammad Amin (Faisalabad) five points.

20km Ordinary road race: Muhammad Shafiq (Lahore) 10 points; Muhammad Irfan (Nankana Sahib) seven points; Muhammad Yousaf (Lahore) five points.
