Celebrations in Landi Kotal

LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency) Aug 15: The Khyber Rifles organized a colourful show at the Pakistan-Afghan border of Torkham to mark the 59th Independence Day on Sunday. Commandant Khyber Rifles Col Qaisar Alam, who was the chief Guest, hoisted the national flag.

The jawans of Khyber Rifle presented various tribal dances while the band group enthralled the audiences with playing of famous national songs.

Afghan Border Administrator Qahar Bacha, Security chief Zabeehullah and border picket in charge Sher Muhammad alongside a number of local tribal elders were also invited to witness the celebration. Col. Qaisar Alam later presented copies of Quran to the members of Afghan delegation.

Colourful shows were also organized at the Government High School Landi Kotal and Jamrud tehsil where students of various local schools presented colourful prograames.
