PIA launches Karakoram air safari

ISLAMABAD, Aug 15: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Sunday launched its Karakoram Air Safari, says a press release. Inaugurated by Defence Minister Rao Sikendar Iqbal at the Islamabad airport, the mountain safari has been started in coordination and consultation with tour operators, the tourism ministry and other stakeholders to attract domestic and foreign tourists, it said.

The 90-minute inaugural flight carried tourists, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of tour operators and senior officials of the PIA.

Speaking on the occasion, the defence minister said the air safari would attract tourists from abroad which would promote tourism in the country.

Chairman PIA Tariq Kirmani and Federal Minister for Tourism G.G. Jamal were also on board.
