MIRPURKHAS, Aug 15: People’s Party Parliamentarians’ divisional president MNA Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jillani has criticized police for detaining him and his colleagues near Old Mirpur. In a press statement issued here on Monday, he also criticized deployment of police outside his residence and the city PPP office.

Mr Jillani said and his colleagues were going to the Sindhri taluka for attending corner meetings when police stopped their caravan on the Sindhri-Mirpurkhas road near Old Mirpur and did not let them go.

However, he said, they would continue their election work despite these actions by the administration.

He demanded that the Election Commission should take notice of excesses of the government and the local administration.
