One FC soldier martyred, three injured in blast

LANDI KOTAL: One soldier of the Frontier Corps was martyred and three others were injured in a landmine blast in the bordering area of Landi Kotal on Thursday.

Official sources said that a team of the Frontier Corps personnel was on routine patrolling of Khuna Kandaw border area in Pasedkhel area near Torkham border when an explosive device planted in the mud track exploded.

One FC personnel Taqdeer Khan was martyred on the spot while three of his colleagues were injured. The injured were identified as naib subedar Rahat Gul, sepoy Kamran and Shah Munir.

The injured were taken to the local military hospital and later shifted to Peshawar. Officials, however, said that their condition was out of danger. The security forces later conducted a search operation in the area.
