KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said light rain is expected in Karachi on Wednesday (today) that could continue intermittently till Thursday morning, causing a further drop in temperature to 13 degrees Celsius.

An advisory issued by the Met office said that a westerly wave currently over Iran and its adjoining areas was likely to approach the western parts of the country and grip most areas on Thursday.

“Under the influence of this weather system, scattered rains and thunderstorm with snowfall over hills is expected in upper districts of Balochistan during Wednesday and Thursday. Light to moderate rain-thunderstorm is also expected in Sindh [Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi] from Wednesday (night) to Thursday,” it said.
