HYDERABAD, Aug 12: Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur registered six wickets victory against Quaid-i-Awam University Nawabshah in Group-B match of PCB Inter-universities tournament Hyderabad Region at Niaz Stadium on Thursday.

Batting first Quaid-i-Awam University (QAU) were bundled out at 137 in 38 overs. Warasat Hussain (27) and Irfan Gujjar (24) were the main scorers. Abdul Waqar took three wickets for 17.

SALU achieved the target losing four wickets.

Zuhaib Ahmed remained not out at 50 which he scored with the help of eight boundaries while Talib Hussain was also unbeaten at 42. Zeeshan Amir claimed three for 26.

In another match of Group-A, played at Niaz Stadium the other day, Superb batting of Abdul Quddus and Babar Shaikh helped Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro to reach the final of the tournament.

Batting first, Mehran University amassed 243 for eight in 40 overs. Quddus played a responsible innings of 92 runs off 102 balls with the help of six boundaries and two sixes. Babar played a splendid innings of 53 off 38 balls by hammering six boundaries and one six.

Abdul Khaliq secured two for 11 while Zuhaib Imran bagged two for 30

Sindh Agriculture University were shot out for 91.

Only openers Ali Shuja (22) and Shakil Masih (11) reached the double figures.

Asif claimed three for seven, Quddus two for eight and Farhan Khan bagged two for eleven.—APP
