DERA MURAD JAMALI, Aug 12: Balochistan suffered a loss of Rs810 million due to heavy rains and flood, Minister for Relief and Revenue Mir Asim Kurd said here on Friday.

He assured the people that the provincial government would address the loss after the release of grant by the federal government.

“The provincial government is unable to meet this huge loss due to its poor financial condition, hence, we have sought financial aid from the federal government in this regard”, he said.

The minister termed the construction of new dams and water reservoirs essential for the country, adding that the federal and the provincial government were taking keen interest in constructing small dams in the province for this purpose.

He said that President Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz were doing their best to develop the province.—-APP
