RAWALPINDI: The city police have decided to use drones to check kite flying that has claimed many lives in the past.

The measure has been taken after the police decided to implement a strict control regime against the people who violate the ban on kite flying.

The city police officer (CPO) has directed all the SHOs to launch and aggressive campaign against kite flyers and sellers.

He also warned the police that strict departmental action would be initiated against the SHOs, who may face suspension, if the violation of ban takes place in anyone’s area.

City Police Officer Faisal Rana while addressing the meeting attended by SPs stressed the need for controlling kite flying and selling.

The CPO said the police had started surveillance of kite flyers and sellers by using latest scientific technology.

He directed the police officers to stop kite flying and check selling of kites.

CPO Faisal Rana ordered crackdown on kite sellers and their godowns in Rawalpindi.

The city police officer also directed to arrest the stockists and sellers of kites and strings.
