KARACHI, Aug 11: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has taken strict notice of continued incidents of firing on wedding and other occasions in violation of his directives in this regard.

Showing his indignation, the minister directed the IGP to ensure arrest of anyone found indulged in such incidents immediately or apprehending managers of the marriage hall and those who had booked the hall where firing had been resorted to.

He asked owners and management of marriage halls to immediately inform ‘Madadgar 15’ if those involved in firing did not heed to their advice against indulging in the offence.

The minister said that he had been issuing orders only to provide relief to people, and warned that if any police personnel tried to exploit this or use the directives against the public interest, then action would be taken against them.

Departmental action would also be taken if an innocent person was arrested or kept in illegal confinement at police stations, he added—APP
