KARACHI: SSC toppers honoured

KARACHI, Aug 11: The Academy for Research in Islamic Sciences organized a ceremony to honour the position holders in the SSC examinations. Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui was the chief guest on the occasion, said a statement issued here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the country could not make headway without promoting education.

He also appreciated the Academy for Research on Islamic Sciences for free distribution of course material among 400 students.

Mr Siddiqui also lauded the services of non-governmental organizations in the field of education.

He told the audience that the government was paying attention towards the education and health sectors.

Later, the minister distributed course material among the students and also gave away awards to the position holders.

The president of PTCL Employees Union, Ziauddin, the nazim-i-aala of the academy, Nadeem Mohammad Khan and General Secretary Mohammad Shakir Sabir also spoke.—APP
