India briefs China on gas pipeline

BEIJING, Aug 10: Indian petroleum ministry official Talmiz Ahmed met his Chinese counterpart on Wednesday and briefed him on the proposed Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.

Mr Ahmed told newsmen that he also briefed the Chinese side about India’s position on the Myanmar-India-Bangladesh pipeline, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan pipeline and the Qatar-India-Pakistan pipeline.

The two sides also discussed matters relating to bilateral cooperation in the petroleum sector, he added.—APP
