GUJRANWALA, Aug 10: The building of working women hostel in the city has been declared ‘dangerous’ while Punjab Social Services Board Chairperson Saba Sadiq has ordered action against the buildings department officers and the contractor for using substandard material.

Reports said the chairperson visited the hostel here on Wednesday and found the building in a dilapidated condition. She was told at a briefing that the building had been constructed in 1998, But its ground floor, roofs and walls developed cracks after six months.

She was told that DCO Khalid Masood Chaudhry had already ordered an inquiry and appointed the EDO (works) as inquiry officer in this regard.

SEMINAR: A seminar on traffic rules was held here on Wednesday.

Organized by traffic police, the seminar was attended by Punjab Education Minister Mian Imran Masood, Punjab DIG Altaf Qamer, range DIG Zafer Abbas Lak, senior journalists Mujibur Rehman Shami, Ataul Haq Qasami, Irfan Siddiqi, Khawaja Pervaiz, Khawar Naeem Hashami, besides DPOs.
