Franco reburied

Published November 12, 2019

THIS is with reference to the letter ‘Franco reburied’ (Nov 1). Had it not been for the exploding mangoes, the evil Zia would have continued exploiting the sacred name of Islam, despite Habib Jalib’s warnings: tu Islam ka na nikaal jaloos, one can imagine his final moments before he was cremated mid-air. He had not allowed his victim’s judiciously murdered body to be seen by his family; in turn his own ones, too, did not get to see his charred remains.

His legacy, however, lives on in the form of a constitution badly mutilated and galvanised by the “indemnity bill”. There he lies shamelessly polluting a corner of Faisal Mosque, financed by a great benefactor and friend of Pakistan.

Surely the grave should be reopened to find out if any semblance of homosapiens remains lie in there; if so, it should be removed to some military graveyard as was demanded through a petition, not heeded to, soon after the welcome incident.
