KARACHI: CPNE meeting on 23rd

KARACHI, Aug 9: The general secretary of the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors, Dr Jabbar Khattak, has announced that the annual general meeting of the council will be held on Aug 23 at 11am here in the CPNE secretariat.

According to a press release of the council issued here on Tuesday, the meeting will discuss the annual report of the CPNE general secretary and finance secretary.

Besides approval of these reports, other matters of common interest would also be discussed. The meeting will also elect 35 members of the standing committee for the current year.

Later, the newly elected standing committee will elect new office-bearers for the year 20005-2006.

The CPNE members who have not submitted their annual fees have been advised to deposit their dues in the CPNE secretariat before Aug 15, 2005, so that they could use their right to vote in the annual election.
