KARACHI: 54 cellphones taken away

KARACHI, Aug 9: Fifty-four mobile phones were taken away on Tuesday in different areas of the city. Police said that bandits snatched 17 cellphones at gunpoint while 37 others were stolen. Six mobile phones were reported missing.

Meanwhile, Preedy police arrested two suspects and recovered two mobile phones, a TT pistol, a dagger and a motorcycle from their possession.

SHO Preedy police station, Shahrukh, said that the suspects were nabbed during a snap checking at Regal Chowk. They were identified as Faraz and Adnan Khan, he added.

According to a statement issued by the office of the DIG Investigation Zone-1, police have arrested 362 absconders and proclaimed offenders during the last one month, adds APP.
