We all know what superheroes do in the day time — save the world from the deadliest villains. But do you know what these superheroes do when they are not making the world a better place or performing their duties as their alter egos? They like to take a break and rest their bodies, even if they are superheroes.

The Big Book of Super Hero Bedtime Stories give readers a chance to say goodnight to Superman, Batman and other members of the Justice League, and know about their sleeping routines, before they go to bed.

This book revolves around the normal day of these superhuman beings — both their adventures and leisure time are given equal coverage with the help of pictures. Their day begins with saving the world but ends like that of normal people, people who like to give their bodies a rest so that they can start their next day afresh. That isn’t much different from us who like to do the same, sometimes listening to music or reading a book, before going to bed.

As this book tells us, these superheroes race around their city, country, world and sometimes even in space chasing the ‘baddest of bad guys’. Yet when they return to their normal selves, such as Clark Kent for Superman, Diana Prince for Wonder Woman and Barry Allen for The Flash, they like to rest after a hectic battle. Barbara Gordon, who as Batgirl helps Batman and Robin, is a librarian in Gotham City and loves to fall asleep while holding a book; Black Canary’s body as well as voice needs rest because they help her find the bad guys; for Batman and Robin, Wayne Manor substitutes as headquarters and sleeping quarters where they sleep as Bruce Waynep, and Dick Grayson, after fighting off villains late into the night.

The Big Book of Super Hero Bedtime Stories not only introduces all DC superheroes to you, but also tells you a thing or two about the sleeping routines of super villains such as The Joker, Two-Face and Penguin. What does the Two-Face do, to decide which side he will sleep on, what special trick sends The Joker to sleep … these are some of the questions that are answered in this book. Yawn!
