Olympic Day Run on 21st

LAHORE, Aug 8: ‘Olympic Day Run’, under the annual programme of International Olympic Committee (IOC) will be held on Aug 21, starting at 6.30am. The race will start from Punjab Stadium and the runners after passing through the route Ferozepur Road, Canal Bank, The Mall will come back along the left bank of the Lahore Canal to finish at the starting point.

Around 500 athletes/players belonging to Army, Wapda, Railways, Police, PAF, HEC, Navy, Punjab and various national sports federations will compete for top honours. The top six position holders will receive cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000, Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) said that the event was being organized throughout the world under the directions of the IOC to convey the message of Olympic Movement and its high ideals to the public and for promoting healthy activities of sports among the youth.
