KARACHI: The traffic authorities on Tuesday announced an alternative traffic plan for the main procession of Chup Tazia, which would emerge from Nishtar Park on Wednesday [today], an official said.

The main procession would emerge from Nishtar Park after sunrise and culminate at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar after going through its conventional route to complete the journey in more than two hours. The official said that traffic would remain suspended along the procession route and advised the people to take alternative routes.

“For the security of the procession, which will emerge from Nishtar Park, all vehicular traffic coming from the city side would be diverted to Soldier Bazaar from the junction of M.A. Jinnah Road,” he said. “Another procession would be taken out from Qasr-i-Musayyab of Rizvia Society in the afternoon to end at Shah-i-Najaf Imambargah on Martin Road after sunset. Traffic would remain suspended on the routes of both processions.”
