LONDON, Aug 6: English cricket county Sussex’s fight to avoid relegation was handed a boost on Friday with their Pakistani paceman Rana Navedul Hasan taking four for 70 to beat Surrey by five wickets at Hove. The hosts, set just 125 to win, slumped to 32-4 before Matt Prior took over with an unbeaten 66 off 48 balls, including 10 boundaries and two sixes.

Surrey, 54-0 overnight, were earlier bowled out for 254 after losing their last five wickets for 24 runs, with Navedul Hasan returning 4-70. Sussex, third-bottom before this match, move out of relegation zone, but Surrey’s outside hopes of winning the Championship now look wafer thin.
