KARACHI, Aug 5: Five-wicket haul by Junaid Ilyas and Farhan Rafiq smashed a sparkling unbeaten half century to play instrumental roles in Zone-II Whites’ six-wicket triumph over Zone-III Blues in KCCA Inter-zonal Under-17 Championship at TMC Ground on Thursday.

Junaid took five wickets for 55 runs with his off-spin and Akhtar Hussain grabbed three for 38 in to dismiss Zone-III Blues to 163 all out in 50 overs.

Farhan Rafiq hammered 74 not out with six boundaries to steer Zone-II Whites to an easy win.

In the other match at Asifabad ground, Zuree Khan hit 67 with eight fours and Anwar Afridi hit 56 with four boundaries in Zone-VII Blues’ 88-run win against Zone-V Blues.

Zone-VII Blues made 192 for nine wickets in their 50 overs and then bowled out Zone-V Blues for 104 in 35th over.

Spinners duo of Babar Saleem and Ahsan took six wicket sbetween them. Ahsan got three for 23 with off-breaks and Babar finished with three wickets for 26 runs.
