3 army officers found guilty of abuse of authority, involvement in illegal activities

Three majors of the Pakistan Army have been found guilty of indiscipline and misconduct charges, including abuse of authority and involvement in illegal activities, Inter-Services Public Relations announced on Friday.
"Upon [being] found guilty of the charges levelled against them, all three [have been] dismissed from service while two [have] also [been] awarded rigorous imprisonment for two years each," the military's media wing stated.
"Charges included misuse of authority and involvement in illegal activities unbecoming of an officer," the ISPR said.
The exact nature of the charges have not been specified, however, and it remains unclear exactly what the three officers were found guilty of.
In August, Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa had ratified life sentence for an army officer after he was found guilty of misusing authority.
“Pakistan Army alive to its institutional accountability system has dismissed the officer from service and sent him to jail for life,” a brief statement issued by ISPR had said without naming the person against whom the verdict had been given.
Earlier in May, a former army officer retired Brig Raja Rizwan and a civilian official of a military institution Dr Wasim Akram were sentenced to death, and a 14-year jail sentence was given to retired Lt Gen Javed Iqbal for espionage.
Those officers were tried under the Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and Official Secrets Act.

The civilian courts should be as strict as army courts and should be quick to finalise the cases with maximum punishments to the criminals an other law breakers.

@Supporter- PTI, civil courts are trying Sharifs, Zardaris and lot others for ages. Their prosecution is flawed with lots of loopholes. Moreover it will take time for the civilian government and courts to get in line to establish their reputation. Also it would take time for the armed forces to only concentrate on their job. Since we have had impotent and corrupt civil governments for decades, the only other option (trusted by the people) was the army. Hopefully when we will have a continuation of corruption free government, things will fall in place and each institution will be only concentrating on their own jobs.

Army should make the nature of illegal activities public for which they have been convicted and punished. Such disclosures are necessary as a warning to others and for transparency

what became of inquiry of harrassment of motorway police and trauma they did to the motorway officer.. we never heard on that.
I am sure discipline is present in army, but alive also are optics, unless transparency Is shown

Good step. would appreciate all such VIP protocols which is not very common to Army be dismantled. CP Gate 1 at Malir Cantt should be opened for residents having valid Entry cards and not just to retired army officers and VIP movements. I was asked not to use by a sepoy as the gate is for VIP movements and I told him, after living here for 6 years, I could still not achieve that special category to pass through this gate which would save me almost 2-3 kms every day to my house from office. But he asked me to use other gates. Such are the type of things which defines our core values at heart with many tiers of status quo.
