ISLAMABAD, Aug 4: Former President of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Rawalpindi, Sultan Mehmood Qazi, has slammed Gen (retired) Khalid Mehmood Arif for his interview to a private TV channel in which he said it was the decision of the whole of Pakistani army to hang Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mr Qazi said the issuance of such statements by a retired general could only ignite public hate against Pakistan army.

To hang Bhutto, he said, was the decision of Gen Ziaul Haq and Gen (retired) Khalid Mehmood Arif, and the later knew that they had not taken even the corps commanders into confidence while hanging one of the greatest political leaders of the world.—Staff Reporter
