KARACHI, Aug 4: Three ships carrying containers and edible oil were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday. Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 56 per cent as six ships, Sealand Freedom, Asian Trader, CMA CGM Kingston, Bum Jo, Docomo and Fotini Lady, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 48,813 tons comprising 35,587 tons of import cargo and 13,226 tons of export cargo was handled. Sailing was active as Sealand Freedom, Asian Trader, Fotini Lady and Bum Jo left the port while CMA CGM Kingston was due to depart.

Four ships, Al-Mariyah, Warbah, Lauren and Bow Fertility, carrying containers, diesel oil, edible oil and chemicals were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage. Two ships, Carmen and Anette Kosan, were expected to arrive at the port on Friday.
