KARACHI, Aug 3: Two ships with containers and diesel oil took berths at QICT and Fotco during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday. Meanwhile, four more ship carrying containers, edible oil and crude oil arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell below average as only three ships, Sealand Freedom, Bum Jo and Fotini Lady, were busy in loading and unloading containers, diesel oil and edible oil.

Cargo handling activity was brisk at the port where a total tonnage of 95,178 tons comprising 75,067 tons of import and 20,111 tons of export cargo was handled. Sailing was slow as only one ship, Camille, left the port, while Sealand Freedom and Fotoni Lady were due to depart.

Three ships, CMA CGM Kingston, Asian Trader and Docomo, carrying containers and edible oil were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage. An oil tanker, Bow Fertility, was due to arrive at the port, while Saudi Hofuf was expected to reach on Thursday.
