OKARA: The police rescued seven-year-old Maryam from her captors who was kidnapped three months ago and 11-year-old Alisha within four days of her kidnap.

Maryam was taken away from village 40/ 3R in June last and a case was registered against Khizar Hayat who kidnapped her over a marriage row. The police traced the kidnapper and arrested him in Khanewal. According to the police, Khizer was refused the hand of Maryam’s sister.

In another incident, on Thursday Alisha, 11, did not arrive at school. The school administration alerted the family on mobile phone about her absence. Her father Muhammad Ahmed got registered a case against unidentified people with the Basirpur police.

The police traced the kidnapper, Muhammad Afzal, of the same locality, and handed over the girl to her parents.
