Ashfaq and Kashif in final

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: Ashfaq Mahmood and Kashif Majeed qualified for the men’s singles final of the Staff Welfare running trophy bdminton tournament at the Ch. Rehmat Ali Community Centre. Ashfaq knocked out Jahanzeb 15-5, 15-10 while Kashif defeated Dr. Abid 15-7, 15-12 in the other pre-finals. The singles final will be played on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Sajjad and Dr. Abid beat Umar and Irfan to move into the doubles semifinals with a 15-8, 15-11 win.

Also making the last four stage were Ashfaq and Kashif Majeed who edged Asif and Athar 15-17, 15-2, 15-8 in a hard- fought quarterfinal.

Naeem and Kamran won their quarterfinal quite easily scoring a 15-5, 15-2 victory over Waheed and Imran while Jahanzeb and Kashif earned a walkover against Sarwar Sindhu and Ishtiaq.
