Detention of Fazl in UAE condemned

RAWALPINDI, Aug 2: Several top leaders of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) have criticised the detention of opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the Dubai Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Those who criticized the detention of Maulana Fazl included Allama Abdul Jalil Naqvi, Dr Muhammad Kemal, Maulana Abdul Jalil, Maulana Taj Muhammad Khan, Malik Muhammad Azam, Maulana Abdul Majeed Hazarvi, Maulana Mehmoodul Hasan Balakoti, Maulana Muhammad Akram Hamdani, Muhammad Ikhlaque Jalali, Tariq Muneer Butt, Chaudhry Muhammad Younas and others.

In a joint statement issued here on Tuesday, the MMA leaders said the detention and blacklisting of Maulana Fazlur Rehman was the result of government’s failed foreign policy.—Our Reporter
