KARACHI, Aug 2: The Aurat Foundation is organizing training workshops to disseminate information regarding the local bodies’ polls among the contestants as well as for the voters in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur from Monday (Aug 8).

Speaking at a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, the Aurat Foundation officials, Hassan Pathan, Malika Khan, Aslam Brohi and Shirin Khan, said that in the first stage approximately 100 trainers would be trained, who after getting the training would go their respective areas and organize trainings at the local level so that the information could be spread at the grassroots level.

They said that the Aurat Foundation had organized 65 information camps all over the province during the two three-day phases of the filing up of the nomination papers for the local bodies polls held from July 18 to 20th, and from July 25 to 27.

They said that over 18,925 people, including 5,514 women, were provided information at these camps.

They said that in all over 50,391 nomination forms have been submitted for 14,430 seats in 1,110 union councils.
