ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) is opening the newly-built 392km Multan-Sukkur Motorway on Friday (today).

According to the NHA, the six-lane M-5 motorway will be opened to light traffic. Being an integral link to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, it’s expected to reduce travel time between Multan and Sukkur to a considerable extent.

The new motorway will not only accelerate industrial growth but also benefit the agricultural sector, the NHA said, adding that M-5 is also expected to pave the way for socio-economic uplift in Punjab and Sindh.
