Intermediate position holders at the medal awarding ceremony. — Online

LAHORE: As many as 115,049 students out of total 181,587 who appeared have passed Intermediate part-II annual examination, 2019, with the percentage of success remaining 63.36.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Lahore, on Wednesday announced the result at a ceremony held at a local hotel, where Punjab School Education Minister Murad Raas was the chief guest.

BISE Chairman Prof Muhammad Ismail, Secretary Dr Rehana Ilyas, Controller of Examination Prof Anfas Ahmed, position holders and their parents and teachers were also present.

Mr Raas distributed certificates, medals (gold, silver and bronze) and cash prizes worth Rs20,000, Rs15,000 and Rs10,000 among the students who got overall first, second and third positions.

The BISE also had given medals to the teachers of position-holders and a laptop was also given to the overall topper Ali Raza.

Mr Ismail said the BISE Lahore had taken measures to ensure announcement of the annual examination results on time.

He said the results were available at the board’s official website – www.biselahore.com – and result could also be checked through sending an SMS on 80029.

The minister said the government was introducing reforms in the education department to provide quality education to the students.

He said measures were also taken to end rote learning and promote research-based education system.

He congratulated the position-holders and their parents and advised them to continue the hard work to achieve success in their life and to play their role for the betterment of the country.

DAANISH SCHOOLS: The BISE announced FSc results of Daanish schools across Punjab.

The 14 schools under the Punjab Daanish Schools Authority appeared and out of 1127 students, 791 scored A+ and A grades.

Eman Abdullah of Mianwali Campus scored 1,038 and got the highest marks, with Sameer Qamar of Hasilpur (Boys) scored 1,013 and stood 2nd among Daanish Schools, whereas Lal Chand of Rahim Yar Khan stood third by securing 1,010 marks.
