SWABI, July 31: Provincial Education Minister Maulana Fazal Ali said on Sunday that the forthcoming local body elections were vital for strengthening the religious parties’ alliance.

Speaking at a meeting, he said all the workers of the religious parties should play their role to achieve the desired objectives in the election in each district.

He said the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal leaders had already said that development works and other welfare activities would be completed according to the wishes of the people in those districts of the province where ‘like-minded’ representatives and nazims were elected. But if the elected representatives belonged to the opposition parties, they would clash the provincial government and the development process would be affected, he said.

“No one would be allowed to indulge in illegal practices to win the local government elections,” he said.

He said the four provincial education ministers would meet the president on Wednesday.
